Vikram Malhotra of India got the PSA Otters Open Squash Tournament 2006 to an explosive start when he rallied to overcome fancied Brian Byrne of Ireland 3-1 in a thrilling opening qualifying round, at the Otters Club, Bandra on a rainy Tuesday full of surprise verdicts.

Otters Open 2006, Ritwik top seed

World number 35 and top seed Dan Jenson of Australia on Monday pulled out of the PSA Otters Open squash tournament, following an injury. Jenson, a former world No.4, was the highest ranked player in the competition. Ritwik Bhattacharya is now the top seed, Sourav Ghosal is seeded second. The US$10,000 PSA tournament is being held concurrently with the Otters Open squash.
