The Indian junior boys team created history when they downed archrivals and defending title holders Pakistan India  2-1 in the 15th Asian Junior Team Championships held in Colombo, Sri Lanka to win this prestigious title for the first time in Indian squash history since the inception of the Asian Championships in 1983.

Vinay Asthana runs Antarctic Marathon

The Antarctic Marathon is a race on King George Island, located off the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula, and participants battle sub-zero temperatures and come face to face with icebergs, penguins, seals and whales.

Vinay is a former national junior squash champion and has represented the country in both the Asian and World junior squash championships. He will now be running in the Antarctic Marathon for his own charity, ‘Seeing is Believing’, for the visually impaired.

 

N. Ramachandran Conferred “Friend of Sri Lankan Squash”

The spectacular opening ceremony of the 15th Asian Junior Team Championships took place at the exotic Mount Lavinia Hotel by the bay in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
11 Asian member countries with 11 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams witnessed the 90 minute long ceremony that was filled with speeches, delightful dances by the Sri Lankan Air force and distribution of special awards. Read more of this post
