1st Asian Junior Championship – Finals

Dipika Pallikal did India proud by winning the girls u15 title at the 1st Masonry Asian Junior Squash championship in Singapore. From the start Dipika stamped her authority by playing superb lengths and finishing off with some amazing cross court volley drops. 
Dipika was delighted to have won the title for the country. She said “I would like to thank Maj. Maniam, consultant coach, Cyrus Poncha, National Coach and the ICL Academy for everything they have done for me to get me where I am today” “. She paid tribute to a host of others including her sponsors Wilson and Globo Sports. 

N. Ramachandran, President ASF and Secretary General SRFI, witnessed the match and expressed delight with the results of the Indian players. “The ICL Academy has proved to be a training haven for the Indian juniors and we are indeed pleased to see some brilliant results.

GU19 [2] Low W Wern (MAS) bt [3/4] Leung S Nga (HKG) 1-9, 9-6, 9-5, 9-4 
GU15 [3/4] Dipika Pallikal (IND) bt [1] Tong Tsz Wing (HKG) 9-2, 9-4, 9-5

Overall the tournament was excellent, no country dominated. There was a winner each from India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Overall we finished with 1 gold and 2 bronzes
