Rules & Conditions of Play

The SRFI rules shall apply unless otherwise stated. Players should note the code of conduct and abide by its regulations.
A player can enter only one category.
A minimum of 8 entries is required to conduct the tournament in any category. In case of inadequate entries in any category, the entries shall be considered for the next age category.
Players participating in the ‘Masters category’ must be within their age category as on 6th September 2006. All players are requested to carry documentary proof of age (Passport or Birth Certificate). In the event of any doubt, the SRFI Observer has the right to order a medical test on the player.
Only Indian citizens holding valid Indian Passport / Indians as defined under section (1) of Indian Citizenship Act 1955 (unless he/she is under 16 years of age) can participate in the National Squash Championship.
Disciplinary action may be taken against players who without valid reason give a walkover or do not turn up for the event.
All matches shall be best of 5 games with a 9 point standard scoring system.
Copies of the draws and each day’s match schedule shall be posted on the notice boards.
Players are required to report to the tournament office at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time of their match. Failure to do so may result in a walk over.
The tournament committee shall arrange referees for the matches. However players may be requested to referee matches and if so requested, are obliged to do so. The organisers will provide squash balls for the matches.
Players must wear shoes with non-marking soles.
Players should make themselves available to meet reasonable requests for interviews by the media with the concurrence of the SRFI. However, players should not air their opinions on controversial issues or make any derogatory remarks about participants, officials, referees or any related parties.
Severe disciplinary action will be taken against players who abuse (verbal or gesture) referees/officials on or off court throughout the duration of the championship – This may include suspension from participation in SRFI sanctioned events.  
In the event of disputes, the decision of the SRFI observer shall be final and binding.
Each participant (apart from Professionals) will pay an entry fee of Rs.200/- to The Delhi Squash Association before the start of the championship.
Entries must be sent to the Squash Rackets Federation of India only through the affiliated state associations of the Federation. No direct individual entries will be accepted. States who are not affiliated to the SRFI but have Associate members under section 9 (b) of the Constitution viz. Clubs, Schools, Colleges, or other organizations not specified can send entries directly to the Federation.
