21st World Men’s Team championship

It was a glorious finish for the Indian squash team at the recently concluded 21st ICL World Men’s team Squash

Championship in Chennai from 6-12 December 2007. 29 countries participated with England the defending champions being seeded 2 retained their title defeating Australia 2-1. France attained the 3rd place ahead of Egypt.

India was seeded 10th as we finished 11th in the 2005 edition held at Islamabad, Pakistan. Our team comprising

Saurav, Ritwik, Siddharth and Gaurav were given a target of finishing in the top 10. The team had an outstanding performance to finish 8th in the world – the best result for India in the last 3 decades.

The Squash Rackets Federation of India presented the players and coaches special incentives as a recognition of

their spectacular achievement.
