Aditya Wins Welsh Junior

Aditya Jagtap prevailed in a tough U19 final in the Kane Mailing Welsh Junior Open Squash Championships in Cardiff to celebrate his first successes on the European Squash Federation Junior Circuit in the under 19 category.

Jagtap was top seed in the under 19 event – but the 16-year-old from Mumbai, now based at Millfield School in England, had to fight from two games down in the final to overcome second-seeded Englishman Anthony Graham 3-11, 8-11, 11-6, 13-11, 12-10.

Men’s U19 quarter-finals:
[1] Aditya Jagtap (IND) bt [5/8] Ben Rodgers (ENG)                             11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 11-3

Semi-finals:
[1] Aditya Jagtap (IND) bt [3/4] Robert Downer (ENG)                         11-6, 9-11, 11-5, 11-5

Final:
[1] Aditya Jagtap (IND) bt [2] Anthony Graham (ENG)                           3-11, 8-11, 11-6, 13-11, 12-10
