Women’s Heliopolis Open 2010, Egypt (9-14 September 2010)

Joshana lived up to her 3rd seed reaching the semi finals of the $25,300 Heliopolis Open in Cairo. This is a good build up to the World Open in a few days. Joshana clawed her way back from 2 games down in her quarterfinal match against rising star Heba El Torky from Egypt. In the semis, Joshana lost to top seeded Rachael Grinham. RESULTS:

Semi-finals:

[1] Rachael Grinham (AUS) bt [3] Joshna Chinappa (IND) 11-1, 11-7, 11-5 (19m)

Quarter Finals:

Joshna Chinappa beat  Heba El Torky (Egy) 7/11-9/11-11/9-11/8-11/8 (64m)

1st round:

[3] Joshna Chinappa (IND) bt [Q] Farah Abdel Meguid (EGY) 8-11, 11-6, 11-7, 11-8 (34m)
