Men’s World Junior Championship 2011, Herentals, Belgium (13-17 July’11)

The Egyptian continued their battle for supremacy winning the top 4 positions at the World Juniors Championships. The number one seed and defending champion Amr Khalifa was upset in the semi finals by the 3/4 seed Mohd. Abouelghel who thereafter lost in the final to no 2 seed Mohd. Shorbagy. 

Ramit Tandon finished in 5th position defeating team mate Mahesh Mangaonkar in an enthralling 5 set duel. Earlier in the play off Mahesh was given walkover by his English opponent  Decclan James while Ramit defeated Englishman James Earles  3-0.

This is the best ever result India has attained in World Junior Individual Championship. Effectively we were the second best team at this World Championship.
