WSA Macau Open (16-21 Oct’12)

Top seeds Joelle King claimed the Macau Open title winning in 5 games against Egyptian Omneya Abdel Kawy, the eighth seed. 

The highest-ranked Indian player, Dipika Pallikal, seeded 2, went past beat Liu Kwai Chi of Macao 11-3, 11-2, 11-1 in the first round before going down fighting to Omneya Abdel Kawy. The

Egyptian, who is also on a comeback trail, edged out Dipika in the Quarter Finals 9-11, 11-5, 6-11, 14-12, 11-7.

Joshna Chinappa made a strong impact in the event reaching the semi-finals.Joshna Chinappa after qualifying for the event defeated higher ranked Samantha Teran from Mexico in 4 games. In the quarter final Joshana defeated Japneese Misaki Kobayashi in a close 5 game encounter before bowing out to the eventual winner Joelle King in straight games.

Joelle King (NZL) bt  Joshna Chinappa (IND) 11-7, 11-2, 11-3
