Sachika Ingale and Harshit Kaur Jawanda played superbly before going down against higher rated opponents. Sachika defeated Canadian no.1 and [13/16] seed Hollie Naughton in the third round and was the only Indian to make the pre-Quarterfinal, going down to the top seed Nour El Sherbini of Egypt. Harshit Kaur Jawanda took on Asian U-19 Champion Ho Ka Po of Hong Kong for a place in the last 16 however lost after winning a close first game.

WOMEN’S WORLD JUNIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

16 countries participated in the team championship held from 22-27 July 2013. Prior to the start of the champion we set a target of making it into the quarterfinals. The final seeding placed us at no.6. In my opinion teams seeded between 5-8 were all of similar strength. After losing in the quarterfinal to Hong Kong, we were edged out by Canada 2-1 in a nail biting encounter and finally finished 7th after edging out New Zealand 2-1.
