PSA World Open, Manchester (26 Oct – 3 Nov’13)

Saurav Goshal, 9 times National Champion and world No.17 made history by becoming the first Indian ever to reach the PSA World Championship quarter finals. Saurav defeated Joe Lee in his first round match, then defeated higher rank Alister Walker. Saurav had to fight from 0-2 to win his 3rd round match against Henrik Mustonen from Finald before bowing out to the world No.1, Ravi Ashour from Egypt.

Quarter-finals – [1] Ramy Ashour (EGY) bt Saurav Ghosal (IND) 11-9, 11-5, 11-9 (48m)
3rd round – bt Henrik Mustonen (FIN) 5-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-2 (66m)
2nd round – bt [15] Alister Walker (BOT) 11-7, 11-5, 7-11, 11-7 (55m)
1st round – bt Joe Lee (ENG) 11-5, 12-10, 11-3 (48m)
