Irish Open, Dublin (18-23 Apr’16) PSA M15k + W5k

Harshit Kaur Jawanda was making her first overseas trip as a professional player and starting as a qualifier she did well to get past two rounds to make it to the main round at the event. But fourth seeded Alison Thomson of England stopped her in the first round 11-13, 11-7, 11-6, 11-6. Mahesh Mangaonkar was slightly better. Seeded eight, Mahesh started off hesitantly, beating wild card Arthur Gaskin of Ireland in five games 11-5, 11-5, 6-11, 3-11, 11-3 but in the next round (quarters), second seed Laurens Jan Anjema of Netherlands ended his tenure abruptly. The Dutch won 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 11-3.
