HONG KONG JUNIOR (29 July – 2 Aug’14)

Under 13 National Champion, Veer Chotrani also the top seed at the HK Junior endured a stiff challenge from the second seed and his traditional home rival Yash Fadte to snatch a nail bitting 14-12  8-11  11-7  11-8 win in the final of the Hong Kong Junior Open squash event.

Another Indian to shine was Tushar Shahani, the second seed in the U-15 section who displayed good consistency to defeat his Hong Kong opponent Wong King Yueng  in straight games 11-1  15-13  11-8 to win the final. Utkarsh Baheti finished sixth in the U-15 category.

The results: final:  Boys : Under-13: Veer Chotrani (IND) bt  Yash Fadte (IND)  14-12  8-11  11-7  11-8; (semi-final): Veer Chotrani bt Au Lp Man (HKG) 11-7, 12-10, 11-7; Yash Fadte bt Atul Kumar Ishant Shah (Mas) 11-3, 9-11, 11-4, 15-13; 
Under-15: final: Tushar Shahani (IND) bt Wong King Yueng (HKG)  11-1  15-13  11-8 ; (semi-final): Tushar Shahani bt Wang Peng Soon (Mas) 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 11-8.
